Interning with the Tropical Audubon SocietyFrom Fall 2017 to the end of Fall 2018, I was the Conservation Intern for the Tropical Audubon Society, one of South Florida's oldest environmental organizations focused on the conservation of birds and local habitats. My internship initially focused on Biscayne Bay conservation but expanded to include urban growth & development, Miami Pine Rocklands, and conservation communications.
Through my internship at Tropical Audubon, I was able to connect with environmental leaders from Audubon FL, FIU, UM, FL Sea Grant, Captains for Clean Water, the CLEO Institute, and many others. I also helped pilot and run the Audubon Ambassador program, Tropical Audubon's first advocacy education program. My mentors, Conservation Director Erin Clancy and Communications Director Leticia de Mello Bueno, truly inspired me and taught me everything I know about advocacy and caring for the planet--I'll forever cherish the lessons I have learned from them and the friendships we have developed.
If you haven't already I encourage you to connect with Tropical Audubon! www.tropicalaudubon.org Follow them: |
